Nashville's Opryland park closing

Gaylord Entertainment Co., Nashville, Tenn., is expected to close its Opryland theme park, a widely-marketed national tourist attraction for 25 years, next year to make room for a $200 million Opry Mills shopping mall. For the first half of 1997, park attendance was 625,000, down 7.4% from the same period a year ago. Ericson Communications, Nashville, is the Opryland agency.
