National Media acquires stake in EarthLink

National Media Corp., one of the nation's biggest infomercial companies, formed a marketing alliance with EarthLink Network, an Internet access provider. As part of the arrangement, National Media will run 15-second direct response TV spots on most of its infomercials as well as stand-alone 60-second direct response TV spots marketing EarthLink's Internet access packages.

In exchange for purchasing an undisclosed amount of EarthLink stock, National Media will be paid a percentage of new orders and be given rights to more EarthLink stock based on sales generated from the spots.
