NATPE may pay attendees

Published on .

The National Association of Television Programming Executives is working on a plan to pay TV stations to attend its annual conference, NATPE President Bruce Johansen said in his keynote speech today opening this year's meeting in New Orleans. NATPE is reacting to pressure from a number of big syndicators that attendance by TV station executives is down. One reason for the drop in station attendance this year was CBS' decision not to hold an affiliate meeting in conjunction with the conference.
