National Basketball Association could announce as early as the week of the 10th that it has renewed its TV deals with NBC and Turner Sports. The two four-year deals could net the NBA $2.2 billion, double what NBC and Turner Sports pay now. It remains to be seen if the increases will lead to more telecasts and more ad inventory. Regardless, NBA sponsors say they expect to be stuck with the bill, paying more to keep their competitors from snatching up the added inventory.
