NBC appoints Turner exec to international sales

Published on .

LONDON -- NBC has appointed Daniel B. Lovinger as vice president, international sales, with responsibility for the U.S.-based international sales group. He starts work on August 20.

Lovinger joins NBC from Turner Broadcasting Systems, where he was vice president of international business development, in charge of the evaluation of new business initiatives for Turner's international networks.

In 1994, he contributed to the launch of the sales group for TNT and the Cartoon Network in Europe. And as sales director for CNN International, he oversaw CNN International sales group operations and gained expertise in international barter in eastern Europe.

"International sales is an area of huge potential growth," says Bill Bolster, president of CNBC and the NBC executive responsible for international sales. "Dan's background makes him uniquely positioned to maximize our opportunities."
