NBC extends TV golf rights pact

Published on .

NBC Sports and the U.S. Golf Association agreed to a four-year contract extension to their existing TV rights deal. Terms weren't disclosed. The extension means NBC will broadcast the USGA's major properties, including the U.S. Open, through 2003. The current deal was inked in 1995 and was originally set to expire in 1997, but USGA exercised an option for two additional years.
