NBC joins Paramount-P&G venture

Published on .

NBC Entertainment has been added to Paramount Television Group and Procter & Gamble Co.'s alliance to develop and program one-hour dramas and half-hour situation comedies. Paramount and P&G are jointly funding new program development, and NBC has been given "first-look" rights and will pick up some of these programs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Paramount and P&G set up their alliance last March to develop and produce shared-equity programs for network series, first-run syndication and international distribution. The companies said their new pact with NBC is the first-ever of its kind, providing a broadcast avenue for their joint production efforts.
