NEC shifts media to Carat

Packard Bell NEC's NEC Computer Systems Division, Mountain View, Calif., moved media buying and planning for its estimated $30 million account to Carat Freeman, Newton, Mass., and San Francisco, from Hampel Stefanides, San Francisco. Hampel retains creative; new NEC VP-Marketing Nick Hofer has reversed an earlier plan to shift much creative in-house, and an NEC spokeswoman said "100%" of creative will be handled by Hampel.
