NETcall unveils new technology

Published on .

NETcall Technologies has signed an agreement with Global One, a joint venture of Sprint Corp., France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, that allows NETcall to use the international telecommunications infrastructure of Global One to provide a new Internet integrated telephone service called SomeOne. To launch later in June, SomeOne will link the Internet and the telephone system with NETcall's HyperPhone links.

When Internet users click on a HyperPhone link and type in their phone numbers, the software alerts the NETcall subscriber that someone has clicked on their link and would like to speak to them; if the subscriber accepts, the Internet user is telephoned by SomeOne. NETcall is working with a couple of companies including a home shopping group that plans to use SomeOne as it moves into electronic commerce. An event management and publishing company is expected to use the software to deliver live customer inquiries to advertisers and exhibitors participating in the online versions of their exhibitions.
