A NetRatings spokesperson could not give further detail into the nature of the problem. "We have reason to believe that the data [are] not correct," she said. In the e-mail to subscribers, the company said, "We are aggressively developing a corrective action plan which will allow us to re-run and re-post corrected reports."
Nielsen/NetRatings planned to inform subscribers as to the schedule for receiving corrected data by the close of business Feb. 16.
