Netscape and Excite unwrap Netcenter redesign

Netscape Communications Corp. and Excite kicked off a co-branded and expanded version of Netscape's Netcenter portal site. New channels on Netcenter include Arts & Leisure, Auctions, Autos, Classifieds and Education. In April, Excite paid Netscape $70 million to provide the co-branded search service on Netcenter. Excite will be allowed to recoup its losses through ad revenue from the co-branded site. In June it reported it had $21 million in revenue in its first two months.
