Netscape signs book, music retailers

Published on .

Netscape Communications Corp. signed a deal with Web bookseller Amazon.com and Web music retailer N2K. to set up storefronts on its new Netcenter business online service. Netcenter already lets users buy software from Netscape and others; the new deals are part of an effort to expand the retail offering. The move comes two weeks after rival Microsoft Corp. made Barnes & Noble the exclusive Web bookseller on its sites.
