Networks bar Clothestime spot

All four major broadcast networks as well as MTV: Music Television have rejected a spot from women's clothing retailer Clothestime, which is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. "Natural Reaction" criticizes network policies, which allow violent and sexual TV programming but don't permit the showing of what a naked man in the spot calls "the perfectly natural male reaction to a woman in tight black pants and a satin shirt." Five other spots in the $7 million national campaign, including two with transvestites, are scheduled to air on network TV in April. Mendelsohn/Zein Los Angeles, handles.
