Networthy: Macy's

By Published on .

The concept: Online wardrobe basics replenishment

The technology: Mercantec shopping cart software

The scoop: Macy's is bringing Web shopping to the next frontier with a site that provides automatic replenishment of basics such as hosiery, cosmetics, socks, underwear and men's dress shirts. Search the categories and find detailed size information. Select a size of Hanes hosiery or a color of an Alfani dress shirt for men and the information will be kept on file for easy reordering. Join the hosiery club, and your supply will be replenished at regular intervals, along with notices of sales and other promotional events. E-mails are sent to customers around the globe to confirm repeat orders before the merchandise is shipped by UPS.

The new feature rounds out a site that will continue to make personal shoppers available online for size questions and shopping advice.

Where to find it: The Macy's Web site
