NetZero sues Juno

Published on .

Free Internet service provider NetZero filed suit Dec. 27 against Juno Online Services for patent infringement. The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angles. The patent, which NetZero recently was granted, allows an Internet service provider to display ads or messages through a window that is separate from the browser.

Zero's suit alleges that Juno's use of ad windows in its Internet service, including The Juno Guide, is nearly identical to the ad window described in the patent.
