General Motors Corp., Detroit, elevated Debra Kelly-Ennis, 43, to general marketing manager of its Oldsmobile Division from brand manager of Chevrolet's S-10 compact pickup. Ms. Kelly-Ennis is a virtual GM newcomer, having arrived in March 1999 at the Chevy post from Sunbeam Corp., where she was VP-general manager of household products. Her predecessor, Karen Francis, 37, left to join Internet Capital Group. Ms. Francis and Roger Adams, general marketing manager of Buick Division, were also both GM outsiders. The move indicates GM's willingness to promote marketing experts groomed in other industries.
