Kmart Corp. boogie oogies in back-to-school TV spot

Kmart Corp.'s back-to-school marketing extends to the African-American market with a new TV commercial "Boogie Oogie school bus" via Don Coleman Advertising, Southfield, Mich. The national spot TV effort will air on MTV and UPN in 11 markets to reach mothers and their children.

Univision reports upfront ad sales rise 18% vs. `99

Univision Communications has posted $501 million in ad sales for the

2000-01 TV season, an increase of 18% over last year. The network claimed 22 new advertisers and 67% growth in its beverages category and 56% growth in packaged foods. Last week Henry G. Cisneros resigned as president-chief

operating officer of Univision to form American CityVistas, a company that will build residential developments in metropolitan areas.

DeRemate hires Del Rivero

DeRemate, a Spanish-language auction site, has shifted its estimated $2 million account to Del Rivero Messianu, Coral Gables, Fla., from Dieste & Partners, Dallas. A multimedia campaign is expected in a few months.
