Jarritos, a fruit-flavored soft drink imported by Novamex, launched a campaign this month with TV spots titled "Aztecs" and "Revolutionaries" in Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles. Radio advertising supports the TV effort. The "Aztecs" spot features the Nahuatl language of central Mexico with Spanish subtitles. Novamex distributes Mexican products to consumers in the U.S. Acento Advertising, Los Angeles, handles.
StarMedia, Pepsi combine for teen campaign in P.R.
StarMedia Network and Pepsi-Cola International have launched a Web site (pidemasonline.com) for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking teen-agers. A supporting ad campaign, themed "Pepsi Music, Expresate con todo," ("Express yourself with everything") and sponsored by Pepsi, is running in Puerto Rico with TV, radio, out of home and print advertising support. The ads are rolling into other Latin American markets. Mobile camera units called "Pepsi Troops" will film teens at play there. The film clips will be accessible at the new Web site. Sancho BBDO, Bogota, Colombia, is the lead office for the creative effort. Media is handled by BBDO regional offices.
L'Oreal's Soft Sheen Products just launched ads for Breakthru via Burrell Communications Group, Chicago . . . Fox Kids Latin America has launched a Spanish-language edition of `Fox Kids,' a monthly programming magazine that will include features about local activities in markets the channel reaches in North, Central and South America.
