Daniel Stiel never lost the entrepreneurial bug after selling his van-side ad company in 1983. The longtime corporate marketer recently formed Stiel Direct, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based direct marketing company. "There is a tremendous opportunity for entrepreneurs, for agencies, who bring an ability to create an architecture around the various disciplines of marketing," Mr. Stiel says. "Part of our strategy is acquisitions," says Mr. Stiel, whose five-person company also has offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and plans to open in Chicago and New York this year.
