For the first time in its 45-year history, the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing has hired a full-time executive director. George Buckley believes his background in association management makes up for his lack of direct marketing experience. "They wanted someone with experience in association management because that's the part of the association that they don't know as well as direct marketing. That's my job," he says. Mr. Buckley aims to grow the organization's member base, now at 1,500, to its previous level of 2,000 or more.
