Priceline.com said it settled a 1999 patent infringement lawsuit filed against Microsoft and its Expedia.com Internet travel Web site. Under the settlement, Expedia will continue to run its Price Matcher services and will pay undisclosed royalties to Priceline. Priceline claimed that two of its patents were being violated by Expedia's Price Matcher, which lets consumers name their price for hotel rooms.

Marriott & Renaissance Offshore Resorts named .Com Marketing, Winter Park, Fla., its interactive ad agency of record, handling the interactive marketing for nine Marriott and Renaissance hotels located in the Caribbean and Mexico. .Com will re-design the Marriott & Renaissance Offshore Resorts Web site (www.offshoreresorts.com); place advertising on search engines; handle ad banner design and media placement and launch a viral marketing campaign. The budget was not disclosed.

Online career site FlipDog.com introduced Web Candidate Search, a new subscription product that provides employers and recruiters with instant access to over one million Web-based candidates. FlipDog.com offers customers candidate search solutions via a combination of access to both a proprietary member database and over a million candidates located throughout the Internet.

Dunn Systems, Chicago, acquired Streams Online Media Development, Chicago, a Web development and design agency. The terms of the deal, which establishes Streams as Dunn's creative services group, are undisclosed. David Skwarczek, who founded Streams in 1994, joins Dunn Systems as the managing director of creative services. Streams' client roster includes Crain Communications Inc.cq, Sears, Roebuck & Co., Kimberly-Clark Corp., Playboy Enterprises and Subway.
