Yahoo! Auctions is adding ThePit.com, an online sports-card site that enables consumers to trade sports cards as they would trade stock--instantly, continuously, with live prices. ThePit.com will be integrated into Yahoo! Auctions' sports cards and memorabilia category, as well as into sub-category pages, such as baseball, basketball, football and hockey.

Online ad impressions in December 2000 increased 21 percent over the previous month, reaching an all-time high of over 65 billion despite increasing market negativity toward the online advertising industry, according to AdRelevance, a Jupiter Media Metrix company specializing in Internet ad measurement. The monthly AdRelevance Intelligence Report showed MSN and Yahoo! dominate other Web sites in terms of ad revenue and impressions. According to the report, MSN brought in the most ad revenue during December ($180 million dollars) while Yahoo! led all sites with over 7.5 billion ads served. Amazon.com led all advertisers with almost three billion ad impressions in December.SmartMoney.com and theglobe.com signed a licensing and content agreement to create co-branded stock and investment clubs. Theglobe.com will be the exclusive provider of co-branded stock and investment e-mail clubs for SmartMoney.com, and theglobe.com's users will gain access to SmartMoney.com's content and proprietary financial and investment applications.
