Shareholders of Havas Advertising, Paris, gave their final approval to the group's planned $2.2 billion acquisition of Snyder Communications, Bethesda, Md. The vote finalizes the $2.2 billion buyout, moving the French holding company to fourth place on the global agency rankings produced by Advertising Age.

Bertelsmann's BMG Entertainment, New York, struck a major marketing deal with Continental Airlines' in-flight video channel for a new video program, "Continental Airwaves," which will feature a wide range of BMG artists. "Continental Airwaves" also will be featured on continental.com and click2music.com. The program debuts next month.
