Ikea, Plymouth Meeting, Pa., trimmed the field to six for its estimated $50 million to $60 million North American account. Pile & Co., Boston, will evaluate Bensimon Byrne D'Arcy, Toronto; Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis; Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Miami; Fallon, New York; Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York; and the Martin Agency, Richmond, Va. A decision is expected by the end of November. Deutsch, New York, previously handled.

Ken Segall, creative director at TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa del Rey, Calif., is leaving the agency. Mr. Segall, known for his work on the Apple Computer account, will return to New York, possibly to Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/ Euro RSCG. His position won't be filled, with Lee Clow, chairman-chief creative officer of TBWA Worldwide, continuing to oversee Apple on the creative front.

Marty Cooke, creative director of M&C Saatchi, New York, is leaving the agency for an undisclosed job opportunity believed to be outside the agency business. "If I still wanted to be in an advertising agency, this would be the one," Mr. Cooke said of M&C Saatchi in a statement released by the agency. An executive familiar with Mr. Cooke's departure said he was considering a position at a brand consultancy. Mr. Cooke joined M&C Saatchi almost two years ago from Merkley Newman Harty. M&C Saatchi will be importing Matt Eastwood, executive creative director of the agency's Melbourne office, to take the creative reins until the agency finds a permanent replacement for Mr. Cooke.
