Digital Equipment Corp.'s Alta Vista search engine will use echoMedia Technology, a subsidiary of Netmaster Group, in an upcoming online campaign. echoMedia said that its Sesame-Ad software allows interstitials and TV commercials to be broadcast over the Web in real time. Current echoMedia clients include Eastman Kodak Co., United Airlines, Rodale Press and USA Today.

AOL Networks, America Online's Internet division, announced Nov. 13 that it has completed a test with 3Com Corp.'s x2 technology. AOL members in 410 US cities now will have access to the service at 56K modem speeds.
