America Online passed the 10 million-subscriber mark today. AOL said it has added 3 million new members in the last year, from the U.S., Europe, Canada and Japan.

Search engine Excite ranks among the top five most trafficked sites on the Internet, according to results released from RelevantKnowledge. The study, taken during a 28-day period during October in the U.S., showed that the number of unique visitors at Excite and WebCrawler rose 26% in October. The sites in the top five are: AOL.com, Microsoft, Netscape and Yahoo!.

GolfWeb plans to build a golf area on the Sports Channel on AOL Networks which will include content such as daily features articles, online golf handicap and statistics programs and fantasy golf leagues.

Hearst New Media's HomeArts Network debuted two news Hearst magazine titles on its online network--Victoria and Mr. Food.

Computer and video game publisher Westwood Studios will embark on a Command & Conquer hunger tour, named after one of its popular video games. Westwood plans to collect packaged food goods in 25 cities as company officials cross the nation in a Hum-Vee, a car that will later be given away in a national sweepstakes.
