San Francisco-based Internet Yellow Pages company Web YP has acquired On'Village, a competitor based in Los Angeles. Web YP owns the Internet white and Yellow Pages site WorldPages.com, which has more than 80 sales partnerships.

Go2net announced new advertisers and partners for its MetaCrawler Marketplace online shopping mall. Advertisers include Charles Schwab & Co., Dow Jones & Co., Hewlett-Packard Co., QVC and PlanetAll. In addition, go2net has added five partners to MetaCrawler Marketplace, including Audio Book Club and CarSmart.

IBM Corp.'s FanMail site went live Jan. 14, allowing users to e-mail athletes at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. IBM also helped with the official Nagano Olympic Winter Games Web site, which gives people a chance to access Olympic Games information, statistics and results.

Chrysler Corp. launches Chrysler Showcase interactive kiosks at malls in 36 cities based on the success of the similar Plymouth Place mall kiosks.

Media Metrix picked Erin/Edwards Communications, Glen Head, N.Y., to redesign its Web site. The site includes the Media Metrix 500, the list of the top 500 Web sites compiled by the Internet measurement company.
