New York interactive agency K2 Design named John Givens senior creative director. Mr. Givens was formerly senior creative director at Japan's Intermart Tokyo.

Gillette is sponsoring a Web search site for world soccer fans from now through the end of October to help fans search the Internet for soccer sources. DoubleClick, working with Think New Ideas, created the beyond the banner presence that can be accessed in six languages.

Ad rep firm DoubleClick and ad management provider AdKnowledge will announce a deal during a press conference June 3. Details were unavailable at deadline.

CMG's Engage Technologies said it would cut by 50% the price of its Accipiter AdManager product. The announcement follows the acquisition of Accipiter by Engage, and an executive close to the company said the aggressive price cut was made to leverage the fact NetGravity is currently on its road show in preparation for an IPO. Engage also announced beta availability of the first Engage-enabled Accipiter solutions.

CNET's Snap! Online, San Francisco, announced several new executive hires. Kathryn Croasdaile joins the company as VP-channel development, from regional manager, strategic partnerships at CompuServe. Julie Welch has been named VP-marketing, from VP-marketing, Fabrik Communications. And Julie Krumholz has been appointed regional advertising sales director, East Coast. Ms. Krumholz was recently Eastern advertising manager, Allure magazine.

Guidance Solutions, a Marina Del Ray, Calif., online business development firm, has expanded its staff. Alexander Lee, previously VP-business development at Comspan Communications, has been hired as VP-strategic planning. Robin Heinz, a former editor for Shape, Magazine, has been named editorial manager. The company has also hired as account execs Barry Clifford, previously account exec at Vollmer Public Relations, and Jill Stephens, previously senior marketing director at DelWilber & Associates.
