Zap Corp., the Internet subsidiary of Houston, Texas-based Zapata Corp., has announced plans to acquire chat site CoolChat. Earlier this week, it announced plans to take stakes or acquire 22 different Web sites and integrate them under the Zap portal. CoolChat claims 300,000 members.

Nancy White was named to marketing manager at Yahoo!, Santa Clara, Calif., a new position. Ms. White was formerly a Diet Coke brand manager at Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta.

Tribune Media Services TV Listings has signed a deal with Journal Register Co. to be the exclusive TV information supplier for the chain's 19 daily newspapers. Journal Register Co. owns publications in Connecticut; Ohio; Philadelphia; St. Louis, Mo.; central New England; and New York. TMS is a subsidiary of Tribune Co.

SmartMoney Interactive has launched Watchlist, a Java applet that allows investors to get financial information without using a browser. Users can set up access to real-time stock and mutual fund quotes, key financial indexes and business headlines every time they log onto SmartMoney.
