Auto Trader Online, Norfolk, Va., reported San Francisco is its top U.S. market for user activity. The Web site, with around 500,000 used cars for sale, has tracked the number of area code searches performed by Bay area users. The company said there were over 3,000 vehicle searches in the market's four area codes yesterday.
Portal site Lycos signed a deal with golf site GolfRounds.com to provide content to Lycos' sports section. In exchange, GolfRounds.com receives a share of ad revenue from banners sold on the co-branded site.
Arthur Andersen and barnesandnoble.com have struck a deal to link clients of barnesandnoble.com's new corporate intranet offering to Andersen's KnowledgeSpace's guide to business books on the booksellers' site. Andersen has also joined the barnesandnoble.com affiliate program that will allow users of its site to purchase books through the bookseller.
SoundStone.com announced plans to create a next generation of personalized music recommendations using Net Perceptions' technology. The Recommendations Center will be available in the fall.
Catalog and direct marketer Fingerhut Cos. has acquired an equity interest in PC Flowers & Gifts. As part of the deal, Fingerhut also has the right to increase its stake to a majority interest.
