Seattle-based Rivalnet, a network of 80 affiliate college sports Web sites, has named William C. Sornsin Jr. senior VP-chief technology officer. Mr. Sornsin, formerly group manager for Microsoft's Microsoft Network, will be responsible for the network's server architecture, bandwidth issues, database technology and user interface design.
AHN.COM, the Web site of America's Health Network, Nashville, Tenn., has named Tim Armstrong VP-advertising and marketing. Mr. Armstrong, founder and former director of the integrated sales and marketing division of ESPN Internet Ventures, will oversee creation of new offices in New York and San Francisco for the site.
