New York-based ad agency J. Walter Thompson has launched its Web site. The site will be a live, 24-hour company information source explaining the Thompson Total Branding protocol and providing news and details about Thompson's people, offices, and recruitment worldwide.

Online banner ads are as effective as television ads in their ability to significantly increase consumer brand awareness, according to a study from advertising market research firm Ipsos-ASI, Norwalk, Conn. The recall level of an online banner (40%) is virtually the same as that of a TV ad (41%) when measured for immediate recall, the study found.
