Comparison shopping service CompareNet signed four new retail partners to site. They are electronics site 800.COM, Crutchfield Stereo, electronics.net, and Outpost.com.

Online grocer Peapod reported flat revenues for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 1998. Total revenues for the fourth quarter were $17.2 million, the same amount reported in the same period of 1997. The net loss for the fourth quarter was $8 million, up from a $4.2 million net loss in the same quarter of 1997.

Garden.com has named McGarrah/Jessee, Austin, Texas, its agency of record to handle its consumer branding. McGarrah/Jessee is creating a national campaign for the gardening retail and content site, which was formerly called Garden Escape.
