Car culture and auction site Mobilia.com is launching a program to issue gift certificates for use in online auctions. Mobilia is using the certificates as incentives in affiliate and marketing programs to drive traffic and commerce on the Mobilia.com site.
America Online, Dulles, Va., has partnered with the Financial Times, a daily global business newspaper, to provide international business news on the interactive service provider. Under the deal, the Financial Times will be an anchor tenant on the International News, International Business News and International Channels of AOL's domestic service.
Newcity.com, a portal for 45 alternative newspaper sites around the country went live March 29. It will aggregate content from online sites such as the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Detroit Metro Times and Philadelphia City Paper.
Sabre, the leading retailer of travel reservation systems and owner of Web site Travelocity.com, has changed its name from The SABRE Group and unveiled a new red logo. The move comes as Sabre readies for an advertising campaign later this year designed to raise brand awareness.
Advertising network Adsmart said it has added 20 new Web sites to its network, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, the National Hockey League, Biz Travel, Outside Online and other news and community sites. Adsmart, based in Andover, Mass., recently acquired ad network 2Can Media.
Cost-per-click ad network ValueClick has signed seven new advertisers, including Columbia House, MasterCard, Visa, HomeArts, Game PC, LookSmart and Wells Fargo. The network is now serving 12 million ad banners daily.
