WholeFoods.com, which launched its retail Web site in March, has unveiled an online community area, which will include online forums and live chats on topics such as natural and organic products.

NeoPlanet made Lycos the default portal for its 1.3 million users, who've downloaded the customized browser since last year, replacing Snap. The Lycos Network is expected to launch Lycos-branded versions of NeoPlanet for each of its properties, including HotBot and Tripod. Drew Cohen, CEO of NeoPlanet, said he expects 100,000 people to be driven to the Lycos Network in the first day.

Natural products and vitamin site MotherNature.com raised $42 million in its third rounding of financing. It will use the money for building its brand image and expanding its distribution. In the last year, it's raised more than $61 million.
