Chicago Web developer Neoglyphics Media Corp., which was purchased by Renaissance Worldwide, a Newton, Mass.-based consultancy in 1998, is expected to announce plans to merge with an undisclosed agency, according to executives close to the company. Neoglyphics clients include Sears, Roebuck & Co.

Excite introduced a personalized Excite start page for users of the Palm VII organizer, a handheld computing product from 3Com's Palm Computing. The customized home page allows users to retrieve stock quotes, weather, sports scores and other content on their Palm VII organizer.

MSN Expedia on May 24 kicked off a promotion with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in which any traveler who books a hotel room at a participating Starwood hotel or resort through Expedia (expedia.msn.com) will get 50% off up to five consecutive nights on a future stay.
