Newspaper inks agreement for electronic display

Published on .

The Arizona Republic newspaper will become the first paper to use electronic ink displays from E Ink Corp., developer of electronic ink technology, to transmit news to select retail locations around Phoenix during a three-month trial period, including Safeway, which will place displays in 10 of its grocery stores. The displays will provide daily news updates as well as promote stories in the following day's paper and on its Web site arizonarepublic.com. All the electronic ink signs will be networked together, allowing messages to be updated instantly from one location.
