'Newsweek' names ad director

Newsweek, New York, named Bruce Brandfon, 51, to be advertising director, a vacant post since Greg Osberg left for CNET last fall. Mr. Brandfon was Newsweek eastern regional addirector. In other moves, William Youngberg, 46, was named Chicago-based franchise development director, a new post, from sales development director. Western Regional Advertising Director William Ganon, 40, was named sales development director and will relocate to New York from Los Angeles.
