'Newsweek' promotes marketer

NEW YORK--'Newsweek International' Marketing Director Mark Kostelec has been named vice president of the magazine. Mr. Kostelec, 41, who has been with the magazine for 17 years, is responsible for worldwide marketing and research for advertising and circulation. He is based in New York.

'Newsweek International' publishes three English-language regional editions (Atlantic, Asia, Latin America), has a joint venture with The Bulletin in Australia and has four local-language editions under license (Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish).

The network of magazines has a combined circulation of more than 1.1 million.
