Newton to name own agency

Apple Computer's Newton unit will be free to pick its own ad agency or stay at BBDO West, Los Angeles, under Apple's plan to spin off the hand-held computer division into a wholly owned subsidiary. Newton's advertising is ``one of the things we have to look at,'' said David Roman, VP-corporate advertising and brand marketing.
