NFL markets to kids

NFL Properties, the pro football league's marketing arm, continues its "Play Football" push to market NFL merchandise and promote the sport among kids this fall with: an August sweepstakes promo with Fox, supported with media in Sports Illustrated for Kids, that gives the winner and 19 friends the chance to play a flag football game with NFL players; and an Aug. 1 promo with JCPenney for "Football America," an entertainment initiative that includes a movie that will air on Turner Network Television on Oct. 18 and a book arriving the same time. A 40-minute video, priced at $14.95, will be sold through JCPenney; consumers get $10 off with the purchase of NFL merchandise. The movie and video will be produced by NFL Films.
