NFL may merge computer, telecom sponsorships

The National Football League has re-signed Zenith Data Systems as the official computer of the NFL, but only to a one-year, "low seven-figure" sponsorship. That's because the league is taking a hard look at the convergence in the computer and telecommunications fields, and is considering marrying the two areas into one sponsorship category in 1996, when GTE Corp.'s deal as the telecommunication sponsor expires.

Hachette Filipacchi Magazines teamed with French publishing entrepreneur Elizabeth Lefebvre to introduce in the U.S. an English-language edition of Cote Sud, an upscale French home furnishings and design magazine. The premiere issue hits this week with a circulation of 50,000 and 37 ad pages. A page ad costs $8,000, with a $6.95 newsstand cover price. The second U.S. edition is planned for spring 1996.
