Nielsen earnings up 13%

Nielsen Media Research, New York, reported fourth-quarter earnings rose 13.6%, to $32.6 million, from a year ago, as revenue was up 14% to $108.5 million. Nielsen attributed the increases to new metered markets, the growth of the WB network, plus the addition of some cable clients and Pax TV. For full-year 1998, earnings increased 20.2% to $48.8 million as revenue rose 12.1% to $401.9 million.
