Nike expanding football campaign from Wieden

Published on .

Nike, impressed with Portland-based Wieden & Kennedy's work on an upcoming regional ad campaign for its football footwear, has asked the agency to produce four national spots. The commercials feature "Perry the Bellhop," the successor to actor Dennis Hopper's crazed referee, and National Football League stars Drew Bledsoe, Barry Sanders and Steve Young. Nike wanted to break at least one of the spots this past weekend. Separately, Nike has suspended its agency reviews in China and Eastern Europe as it reconsiders its business and distribution strategy.
