Nike on Wednesday launches the TV portion of its $35 million summertime ad campaign, timed and tied to the 1996 Summer Olympics. The ads promote Nike's Air cushioning technology and also will introduce Air's newest evolution, Zoom Air. Nike plans to air eight to 10 spots from Wieden & Kennedy, Portland, Ore., during the course of the campaign, the first hitting during NBC's broadcast of Game 1 of the National Basketball Association finals.
