Nike spot wins Emmy

Published on .

Portland, Ore.-based Wieden & Kennedy's Nike spot, entitled "Morning After," has won the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial of the Year. The spot shows a runner going through his paces on the first day of the new millennium despite riots, looting and giraffes walking down the street. Art Director Hal Curtis and Copywriter Chuck McBride were creative directors on the spot. Mr. McBride subsequently moved to executive creative director at TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco.
