NISSAN AWARDS HISPANIC ACCOUNT TO ORNELAS

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Nissan North America has assigned a new regional Hispanic account to independent agency Ornelas & Associates, Dallas, which is already Nissan's agency for national brand campaigns targeted at Hispanics.

The new regional account excludes the Southwest region, already handled by Acento Advertising, Miami, an independent agency.

Previously Nissan's occasional regional Hispanic efforts were handled by its general market agency, Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day.

Ornelas pitched against WPP Group's Mendoza Dillion & Asociados, Omnicom's Del Rivero Messianu DDB and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Casanova Pendrill Publicidad.
