Nissan to break spot directed by Bayer

Published on .

Nissan Motor Corp. USA will launch the first of five new commercials in a few weeks for Maxima and Altima sedans in the first work for the brand from well-known director Samuel Bayer. TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa del Rey, Calif., also tapped producer Jim Bouviah, who did Nissan's successful ``Safari'' campaign that launched Pathfinder three years ago. Separately, Minoru Nakamura, U.S. president of Nissan, said the ads will emphasize durability, quality and reliability--not part of the abandoned ``Mr. K'' brand campaign.
