Nissan North America, Gardena, Calif., and Excite@Home, Redwood City, inked a three-year deal for online and offline marketing. Nissan paid an estimated $15 million for the deal. The two will soon start distributing the first of more than 4 million CD-ROMs, offering Excite's free Internet access via Freelane. The CDs will also provide information about Infiniti's luxury vehicles plus music. Infiniti agency TBWA/Chiat/Day
, Playa del Rey, will create ads to promote the partnership. Local co-branded marketing will be included via Excite's 23 cable TV deals. Excite will develop co-branded destinations on its portal to nissan.excite.com and infiniti. excite.com so the car marketers can talk one-to-one with owners and prospects.
