(May 16, 2001) -- Through a new deal announced today, mobile communications company Nokia will provide RealNetworks' RealPlayer on the Nokia Media Terminal, an "infotainment" device for the home that combines digital video broadcast, gaming, digital media, Internet access and personal video recorder technology.

RealPlayer 8 will allow users to download, store and have access to music and streaming video. The Nokia Media Terminal is expected to launch in the early fall in Europe and in the U.S. by early next year. -- Adrienne Mand
